What is more harmful.a garage full of car exhaust, or a garage full of cigarette smoke?

I just can’t figure out why so many people are focused on cigarette smoke while they motor around pumping toxins into the air.
Is second hand smoke a moot issue in the big picture of health issues?
Just wondering, thanks.
FYI - I went fourteen years without a car, and it wasn’t bad at all.

Methinks you ought to try the garage full of cigarette smoke first, if you live then you’ll know the car exhaust is worst. If you tried the exhaust first you wouldn’t live long enough to try the smoke. Keep the door open would be best!
