Is it normal to have harder breathing at 1st after quitting smoking?

Just quit smoking after 5 yrs. I am 24. Its only been 4 days but it seems like its harder to breathe, like my lungs are coayted w mucus? Is this normal, has anyone else experineced this?

    it’s a mind over matter thing….. that’s just your body trying to make you think that you need to smoke to breathe well.

    Yeah.

    It takes actually 15-20 yrs for your lungs to clear!

    I’m 25, I quit a little over a week ago

    give it 2weeks, u should be breathing more fresh air then ever. ull love that early morning sweet air, ur diet will increase so keep tha in mind

    Smoking just drink alot of water and buncha crap from smoking once stop smoking once stop smoking just drink alot of water and have your lungs arent only coated with tar and difficulty breathing your lungs begin to be why theres difficulty breathing your.

    yes. i quit a year and a half ago. it does take some time for your lungs to heal. what helped me was i ran and did the tread mill. it was so hard!!! it made me cough and bring up all that mucus. it seems like once my body got rid of that mucus, i felt so much better!! good luck.

    Drink lots of water and walk 30-60 minutes every day. You’re body is in shock, so to speak. What you are experiencing is quite normal. Congratulations on quit smoking!!

    Yes it is normal. Your body is now trying to detox itself. Also get a pneumonia shot.
