How do a get out a metal piece jammed in my car’s cigarette light?

A piece of an FM Transmitter is stuck in my car cigarette lighter. Basically, it was meant to charge through the lighter, and broke, leaving half of the adapter portion stuck in the socket. I could reach in to touch it, but no parts are sticking out. Also, it appears what is in there is metal. What is the safest way to get this out?

Disconnect your battery, use a pair of pliers or something to work the piece out.

find the fuse to the lighter and pull it and get some needle nose pliers and pull the part out then put the fuse back in if it’s good, might have burnt out when metal piece got stuck in there.
