Quit Smoking Hypnosis Delivers Long Term Results

Quit smoking hypnosis programs address behaviors that quit smoking drugs don’t. Drugs might help you get through the physical nicotine withdrawal symptoms more easily than quitting cold turkey. But if you really want to quit smoking, hypnosis programs do a better job long-term

One of the reasons for the low success rate of non-smoking drugs long-term, is that they don’t address your “smoking rituals”. If you’ve ever tried these stop smoking drugs yourself, you’ll know what I’m talking about

Sure, you slap a patch on your arm or your hip, and it takes the edge off of the nicotine cravings. but you still have the feeling that you should be smoking when you’re sitting in that favorite chair and where you see that cut crystal ashtray sitting on the table, or when you finish a meal.

And you actually feel physically uncomfortable when you don’t perform the smoking rituals that you become used to. When you reach into your pocket and you don’t pull out a pack of smokes, or when you reach into your purse, and you don’t pull out that fancy lighter, it feels like there’s something missing. You just feel uneasy.

Now, if you’re a long time smoker, what you do to make yourself feel better whenever you feel anxious or uneasy? Right. You have a smoke…or two or three…and you calm down and feel much better.

But if you’re trying to quit, now you’ve got a real dilemma. If you used to smoke one pack a day, that’s 20 cigarettes, you are now feeling uncomfortable and anxious at least 20 times a day. But you can’t have a cigarettes to make you feel better!

But wait, there’s more. How about all of those other times during the day that you feel anxious or upset, when you couldn’t have had a cigarette anyway. You know, like when your boss is yelling at your about the report that’s overdue, or a nicotine craving hits in the middle of church service.

You used to at least be comfort yourself by the thought of having a smoke as soon as you got out of the office or the church. But now you can’t even take comfort from looking forward to your future smoking time!

That’s exactly where a good self hypnosis program to help you quit smoking comes in. You can think of it as a training program to help you learn to become a non-smoker again. After all, there was a time way back in your past when you didn’t smoke.

There was a time, at least when you were a child, when you didn’t smoke when you felt nervous. You might have sucked your thumb or chewed your nails. But you didn’t smoke. So you know you can successfully live without smoking.

A lot of people use the smoking cessation drugs, like the patch or nasal sprays, to help them get through the physical nicotine withdrawal. They are designed to wean you gradually off of nicotine. Over a period of several weeks, you get smaller and smaller amounts, until you finally don’t use them at all.

But many people also use hypnosis to help them get through the mental withdrawal of losing their smoking rituals. They combine hypnosis with the quit smoking drugs. They take advantage of all the help they can get.

Smoking cessation hypnosis programs can also help you develop healthy new habits to replace your old smoking rituals. So when you feel uncomfortable or restless during the day, you can use a healthy response to make yourself feel better, instead of smoking.

Over time, the healthy techniques that you learn during a quit smoking hypnosis program replace your old bad habits. And that’s the way people successfully stay off of cigars or cigarettes forever.

Ideas on how to store my empty Camel cigarette packs that I collect?

Hi, I collect empty camel cigarette packs, any suggestions on where I can put them as a display? I don’t want to put them on a table or a piece of furniture, I was thinking of something similar to an album where I could see both sides of each pack. Thanks for the help.

Quit Smoking Tips

ou have just decided it is time to stop smoking, or you have been trying for some time, it never hurts to get a bit of help. Of course, everyone is different, and everyone will have a different way of quitting that works best for them. Hopefully these Stop Smoking Tips will help you find the right way for you to become smoke free.

There are two basic ways to quit smoking. Going ‘cold turkey’ and weaning off. Each way works best for different personality types. So the first thing you need to do is determine which suits you best. Focus on the Quit Smoking Tips for the required technique.

Going cold turkey is simply STOPPING. One day, all the tobacco in the flat is thrown out, most of the lighters and matches follow (most people do keep one lighter around for candles on the holidays, but some just get rid of everything). Going cold turkey can be a spur of the moment impulse, and when it is, it rarely works. Committing to never pick up a smoke again, especially when you will be surrounded by ads on the telly and coworkers offering a light for the rest of your life, isn’t easy. If you want to go cold turkey, make sure you can make the commitment and stick with it. Going cold turkey works best for people who like short goodbyes and have little patience with unnecessary shenanigans. It can also be necessary for people with certain medical conditions.

There aren’t many stop smoking tips for after you go cold turkey, but some prep can make a big difference in your success. First off, tell your family and co-workers what you are planning. Ask them to keep their smokes away from you and not offer you any when they light up. A support system can make a big difference. Pick a distraction. Before you quit, pick out a couple of different distractions, for work, home, and when you are socializing. Any time you find yourself thinking of having a cigarette, use that distraction. Maybe anytime you want a smoke and you are at home, you can get a couple of biscuits and sit down with a book (most people who stop smoking add ten to fifteen pounds in the first couple of months. Don’t worry, it can come off later). Lastly, whatever you do, make sure that you always keep in mind why you are quitting. That way, if you get tempted, you can easily say to yourself, “No I’m not going to because…..”

The one big stop smoking tip for cold turkey to implement after you stop, is that after years of smoking it is going to be difficult to get used to not having something in your hand and mouth. Right now, don’t even try to. Instead, keep a bag of hard candies on hand, or get one of the plastic ‘cigarettes’ or anything else that works for you to pop in your mouth once in a while.

Weaning off can be a lot easier and is in some ways much easier than going cold turkey. There is no nicotine withdrawal, no sudden change in habits. There a lot more options available to a smoker weaning off, and a lot more stop smoking tips that can help. The two most common means of weaning of are timers and alternative nicotine sources. Someone looking to wean off using timers starts by figuring out how often they smoke. Then they set a timer to go longer between smokes. When the timer goes off, they have a smoke, and reset the timer. Each day, or each week, they add five more minutes to the timer. Alternative nicotine sources are other ways of getting nicotine, such as gum or a patch. Using these tools lets you know exactly how much nicotine you are getting, and stops further intake of cancer causing chemicals.

There is obviously a lot more out there to help you stop smoking. Take these stop smoking tips as a starting point, and build your own path to a smoke free life.

Cigars: the Basics

Cigars have long been associated with the rich and powerful, with relaxation and rich flavor. Cigar aficionados have created a culture around the art of smoking, assembling various theories and accessories to debate and facilitate smoking. Much like wine tasting, cigar smoking has been seen as a diversion of the upper echelons of society.

It is believed that cigars were probably first produced in Spain, and then quickly caught on in other European countries. Although many different countries manufacture cigars, Cuban cigars have long been highly regarded as one of the most flavorful and rich of all cigars. This is due to regional microclimates that are said to produce the highest quality tobacco, as well as the skill of the country’s cigar makers. Other countries that produce significant amounts of tobacco and cigars include Brazil, Mexico, Honduras, Ecuador, Cameroon, Dominican Republic, Indonesia, and the United States. Why have cigars long caught the attention of so many? Many speculate that the cigar’s main attraction is in the way it is manufactured. High quality cigars are always wrapped by hand. Unlike cigarettes, cigars undergo a lengthy process of fermentation and aging (much like wine), resulting in subtle flavors and textures. They are highly individual and the best cigars will provide no smoky aftertaste at all.

The taste of cigars is much more complex than cigarettes. The majority of all cigars are created by wrapping three different layers of tobacco leaves together. High quality cigars usually contain long leaves of nicotine as the filler, although they may also contain a combination of scraps. This results in subtle variations, different textures, and complex flavors. Cigarettes, on the other hand, are mass-produced and generally only contain one type of tobacco. Cigars also come in an incredible variety of flavors. The dedicated cigar aficionado can find chocolate, vanilla, apple, and even coffee-flavored cigars!

Although cigars have long been lauded for their smooth and complex flavors, they can also pose a great health risk. All tobacco contains nicotine. We’ve all heard about the negative health risks of nicotine, but what does it do exactly? Nicotine is a stimulant that produces a sense of euphoria. Even the casual smoker cannot escape the fact that nicotine is highly addictive and contains various toxins, carcinogens, and irritants. Although most connoisseurs of cigars will avoid inhaling the smoke, they are still at risk of developing various types of oral and larynx cancers.

Smoking and Infertility: What Happens in the Body

There could be many different causes for infertility in women. Sometimes a woman has a problem with their ovaries or uterus. There also could be problems with other parts of the body such as hormone levels that will hinder the chances of a woman getting pregnant. But there are also outside factors that could contribute to infertility. And smoking is one of the those factors.

Why Smoking And Infertility Are Linked

There have been major studies done on the topic of smoking and infertility. More than 20 of these studies have linked smoking and infertility together. The reasons for this are the evidence and smoking and infertility causing many adverse affects on the body. Smoke also contains several hundred substances that are toxic to the human body. This is one of the major reasons that fertility is less likely in a woman who smokes.

Smoking can also cause effects on the eggs that will disrupt maturation and halt fertilization and ovulation rates. The less a woman ovulates when they are supposed to, the less chance that the woman can become pregnant. Smoking and infertility are not just linked in the affects of the quality of the eggs in the ovaries, but also the quantity. Less eggs will also greatly reduces the percentage that a woman would be able to get pregnant each month.

Smoking also has an effect on the follicles that are needed in order to stimulate in vitro fertilization. So if a woman who smokes thinks that she can get pregnant easier with fertility treatments, she will need to think again. A lower number of eggs and the lesser quality of healthy eggs combined with in vitro fertilization does not make a good percentage of the ability for the woman to get pregnant. IVF treatments are 2.7 times more likely to succeed with a healthy, non-smoker than with a smoker.

Other Problems With Smoking And Infertility

But smoking and infertility are not the only links in this discussion. Smoking while pregnant is also a major issue for not just the mother, but the baby as well. There are many adverse affects to a fetus that is exposed to nicotine while in the womb. The can be born with a low birth weight, nicotine addiction, and there can be adverse affects years after the baby is born. There could be learning and developmental problems depending on how much smoke the baby was exposed to in the womb.

If you do find out that smoking and infertility are not a problem for you, you will still want to quite smoking as soon as you find out that you are pregnant. You will also want to limit your exposure to second hand smoke, not only for the baby, but to also keep you on track with your smoking habit.

Reducing Your Chances Of Smoking And Infertility Problems

If you want to reduce the adverse affects that smoking can lead to, you will want to quit smoking as soon as possible. Once a woman quite smoking, their body begins to repair the damage that smoking caused. This is a gradual process, so quitting smoking today will not lead to pregnancy tomorrow.

But once you have decided that you want to have a baby, you will want to immediately quite smoking. And infertility issues may not go away if they were not originally linked to smoking, but you are giving yourself a better chance of getting pregnant if you keep your body smoke free. There’s nothing like being a mother, so let yourself have the chance to do it right and not have to deal with smoking and infertility issues.
